"He was only 20 and had so much to live for. It's hard not knowing. We could live with it for the rest of life not knowing, and it's very hard to do."Missing Persons Squad Detective Acting Inspector Anthony Combridge said there had been no confirmed sightings of Lyons since. On August 31, 2014, the Holden Astra was located at Warner Reserve in Springvale with the keys under the engine."The indications we have through his lack of contact with his family, community and basic connections that would suggest he is supporting himself, indicates he is no longer alive," he told the media at a press conference.
Police have issued a fresh plea for answers on the anniversary of Lyons' disappearance. "We were assisting with him getting counselling because he was a little depressed," Brassington said. "I did see him smile after some of his counselling sessions."
