Australian shares are poised to fall. Shares were mixed in a narrow range in New York with the focus on Nvidia’s quarterly results set to be released early Thursday AEST.
Chris Senyek at Wolfe Research said his “sense is that Nvidia’s earnings report after the close on Wednesday will set the tone for markets before the key payrolls report on September 6th. Populist politicians will probably claim Coles is price gouging. Nvidia has been responsible for over a third of the Nasdaq 100’s gain this year, according to Bloomberg. “Given the underlying momentum in the AI industry and the results we have seen from other companies in the AI ecosystem, we lean in direction of Nvidia beating consensus and lifting guidance for fiscal Q3 surpassing estimates.”
