Protesters calling for President Alexander Lukashenko to step down are beaten by armed police and security officers during clashes across the country.
Authorities were filmed beating a man and about 100 people were arrested in the Belarus capital of Minsk as protests against President Alexander Lukashenko enter a second month.
At least 100 people were detained, Russian news agency Interfax said, with human rights group Spring-96 claiming the figure was more than 200.Groups of people marched in front of soldiers and military vehicles, defying a government warning, before being arrested.The country has experienced ongoing unrest since the August 9 election which many believe were rigged.
