Belfast Council is to make an application for European funding on a programme that could see a peace wall come down in a North Belfast public park.

It is great to see an attempt to bring a bit of investment and regeneration into those parks.”
Conor Maskey, Sinn Féin Councillor for the Castle District Electoral Area said: “It is a strong application, and I echo what Sam has said, that there is a step-change in regards to the focus on the Waterworks and Alexandra, and yes the wall in Alexandra. DUP Alderman Dean McCullough told the chamber: “There are a whole host of ideas that are most welcome, and particularly in the lower end of Alexandra Park, which has for a very long time been neglected.”
