The Met Office has given its forecast for the week ahead in Belfast

It is set to be a wet start to the week in Belfast as Sunday's poor weather continues into Monday morning.

While temperatures are expected to be around 17C throughout Monday, September 2, the day is set to start with rainy spells across the city, before clouds clear in the afternoon with some periods of sunny weather predicted. Tuesday, September 3, is set to be a rather cloudy day with further rain forecast through the day with Wednesday looking to be brighter and drier, but with the possibility of rain persisting.

The Met Office said: "Cloudy with outbreaks of rain at times during Monday morning, this clearing eastwards into the afternoon to leave sunny spells behind.
