The Jacksonville University Dolphins came up short against Bellarmine in an ESPN broadcasted game from Swisher Gym.
The Dolphins couldn’t convert the baskets down the stretch that pushed them to an 11-point lead earlier in the second half. MEanwhile, the Knights walked down the lead before eventually taking it with under five minutes left regulation.
“We didn’t come out with the win but with JU and our fans, our students especially, man, I love them to death,” second-year head coach Jordan Mincy said after the game. “It starts with our president, and it trickles down to our athletic director,” Mincy said when asked about the fan support on Wednesday. “When you look in the stands, a lot of them are student athletes. Men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, softball, volleyball, everybody’s involved and it’s a family environment.
But they’ll get one last shot to play on Friday when they host Eastern Kentucky for senior night. Coach Mincy had a simple message as the team closes out the regular season.
