The former footballer and broadcaster was on the sofa to speak about his new memoir
Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard was reduced to tears by former football pundit Chris Kamara when the latter thanked him on an episode of the breakfast talk show. Kamara joined co-hosts Shephard and Susanna Reid to talk about his battle with apraxia of speech, a condition which he revealed he had been diagnosed with in September 2022.
On Twitter, formerly X, viewers and Kamara fans shared their heartfelt views. Malcolm wrote "Great sensitive interview from the team with Kammy @chris_kammy, would nice to see him have a slot once a week on the show, to make us laugh with some of his stories." "Your mouth can't control itself. The words come out very slowly. I thought that defined me. So my apologies to everyone out with there with a speech condition, because it doesn't define who you are." He added: "I get upset talking about it, because I was in denial. I was ashamed that I couldn't speak."
"@benshephard.. you are a good friend & a good man. More like both of you on tv please!!!" Yvonne said: "I was in bits - this is such a sad sad story. You ask yourself “why?” this had to happen to this wonderful man. I pray he continues with his therapy to speak and hopefully his well being continues to heal. God bless you Kammy."
