Australian NBA star Ben Simmons has settled his grievance with the Philadelphia 76ers after a dispute over his $28 million salary.

Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly settled the grievance he filed to recoup a portion of last season's salary.

Simmons was seeking a slice of the nearly $US20 million that was withheld after he refused to suit up for the Sixers last season. And now the two parties have reached a settlement agreement, first reported by ESPN.The 26-year-old Australian was the No.1 pick by Philadelphia in 2016 and became an NBA All-Star.

However, he was heavily criticised after he struggled when the top-seeded 76ers were upset by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 Eastern Conference semi-finals.He then had back problems in Brooklyn, which required surgery, and ended up missing the entire season. Simmons is yet to play a game for the Nets, who are currently embroiled in a stand-off with star duo Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
