Sky News host Paul Murray says “a little bit of sanity' is returning to political leadership.
Sky News host Paul Murray says “a little bit of sanity" is returning to political leadership. This comes regarding NSW Premier Galdys Berijiklian’s comments on the need for Australia to open its state borders and learn to live with the virus.
“A little ray of sunshine has actually broken through in our political leadership,” Mr Murray said. “The premier is saying what we’ve said for months: you’ve got to live with this thing, not hide in a hole until someone in a lab can come up with a cure. “Hallelujah. “Sanity from the most popular state in the country.”

At least Victorians are seeing what a 'fascist, left-wing government looks like' | Sky News AustraliaFormer Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says Victoria, with its lockdowns and restrictions, is “seeing what fascism looks like”.\n\n It comes as the Andrews government is expected to introduce sweeping new powers for public servants, giving them the authority of authorised officers with the ability to indefinitely detain Victorians. \n\nThe bill, which will last until April 2021, gives officers the power to detain people whom they perceive to be a high-risk person (either with COVID-19 or a close contact) and who refuses to comply with health directives.\n\n“You have no freedom of movement after 9 pm now, and between 5 am, so your freedom is restricted,” Mr Kroger told Sky News host Paul Murray.\n\n“Movement is restricted to 5k from your house.\n\n“You’re restricted in who you can visit. You can’t practice your religion. You can only go to funerals in certain numbers.\n\n“People are being arrested in their homes. Pregnant women are arrested in their homes for incitement. You can’t practice free speech.\n\n“And now, you are having people who are not police officers being given the power to arrest people.\n\n“This is a shocking state of affairs in Victoria.\n\n“And now people are seeing what it’s like to have a really fascist left-wing government, and that’s what we have in Victoria, quite frankly.”\n
