From the moment Bergie entered the villa, it was clear he wasn't the typical Love Island contestant.
Bergie nearly got eliminated during the Love Island USA season 5 premiere episode because he and his partner Anna Kurdy weren't compatible. He then set his sights on Carmen Kocourek, but after entertaining the fling for a while, Carmen turned Bergie down. He struggled to find love until he met Taylor Smith at Casa Amor, and he was excited to recouple with someone who actually had an interest in him. While his experience was rough, it helped him evolve into the best islander of the season.
Bergie's Confidence Has Grown Since The Love Island USA Season 5 Premiere When Bergie entered the villa, he had a really hard time talking to the female islanders. He was pretty awkward and didn't have the same confidence the other male islanders had. This was the main reason Anna didn't feel a connection with him and felt their conversations weren't going anywhere. However, once he and Anna weren't coupled up anymore, she was happy to be his teacher.
Bergie Will Continue To Evolve Throughout The Love Island USA Season Bergie's come a long way since he turned Anna off with his nerves and insecurities. However, there's still time for him to evolve more at the villa. With two female Love Island USA contestants interested in him, Bergie has more options than he has had before. Since he's not like Keenan Anunay or Leonardo Dionicio, if he decides to pursue Imani, he'll be very respectful of Taylor's feelings.
