A specific kind of breakfast is recommended to keep you fuller and more productive
Health experts have revealed how to avoid an afternoon slump which can cause a lack of energy, hunger and lead people to eat unhealthy quick fix snacks. The recent study also found that dieters looking to stay fuller for longer need to eat more of a certain food type to satisfy cravings.
They tracked people's productivity levels by the hour for five days to see when they hit their slumps as well as what drinks and snacks they turned to the most. Unsurprisingly, those who ate no breakfast experienced the biggest energy "crash". Meanwhile, the study found a high protein breakfast was the most reliable for a steady productivity level. Those who ate a protein-filled breakfast had the longest lasting energy levels, with a slump not occurring until 3:12 pm. High-protein breakfasts also caused the highest peak in productivity of the whole study, increasing by 15 per cent.
