The winners of the highly anticipated Good Housekeeping Christmas Taste Test 2023 have been revealed.
Christmas may be a few months away still, but if you're hosting any festivities this year, you may have already started planning - and food is such a huge part of the celebrations.
For the 24th edition of the Good Housekeeping Christmas Taste Test, the panel blind-tested everything from fresh turkey and roast potatoes, to mince pies, salmon and prosecco. Tesco was a popular option for for vegetarians, scoring 82/100 for its Finest Roasted Butternut, Spinach & Sage Galette, while budget retailer Aldi picked up 80/100 for its vegan entry, the Specially Selected Vegan Festive Wreath.
The panel also tested the best Christmas starters. Asda excelled in this category with its Scallop & Prawn Vol au Vents with Spiced Rum & Brown Butter Sauce . For a traditional pudding pick, the winner of the Christmas pudding taste test was the Asda Extra Special 6-Month Matured Jewelled Topped Christmas Pudding with a score of 86/100.Waitrose scored another 86/100 for its iced No.1 Rich Fruit Cake, while also reigning supreme in the new stollen category, scoring 77/100.
