Police were increasing security and patrols around Jewish institutions in Beverly Hills Saturday following the Hamas attack against Israel.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department was not immediately aware of any stepped-up enforcement. A watch commander at the Santa Monica Police Department told City News Service: “There have been periodic checks that we have directed to our extra cars. I sent one out when I saw the news.” Israel said at least 70 of its citizens were killed and hundreds wounded, and an unknown number of Israeli soldiers and civilians were captured and taken to Gaza as hostages.
