An irate Anthony Albanese has fired back and accused Liberal critics of “contempt” as he faces backlash from senior opposition frontbenchers over his absence from the flood disaster.
The Prime Minister was in Sydney on Wednesday flanked by Premier Dominic Perrottet and state and federal emergency management ministers where he announcedBut Mr Albanese was quickly forced to defend himself against criticism of his travel, hitting back at several Liberal frontbenchers who he said: “Apparently didn’t get the memo about the new politics”.

Picture: Getty Images.on Monday morning over his lack of communication with the NSW Premier at the onset of the flooding, accusing him of"only just" picking up the phone to Mr Perrottet.
“As a matter of national security and keeping not just myself but the special forces personnel who travelled with me as well as media representatives, we didn't have any electronic equipment,” he said.
