“For all the wrong reasons, Muslims are no longer in the news as terrorists and the reason for that is because a lot of white Christians have become the No 1 terrorist threat in this country. That’s not necessarily a good thing. As a Muslim, of course, great not to always be demonised as a terrorist and for Americans to finally realise that terrorists are not conflated with brown men with big beards; terrorists can be people carrying Confederate flags in the capitol of our country.
“You might say, oh, that’s paranoia, but if Donald Trump is re-elected as president and in January 2025 is sworn in, all bets are off what will happen to minorities, and in particular to my community, because whatever guardrails and adults in the room and limits on Trump’s behaviour you thought there were in the first term, they’re all gone. Absolutely nonexistent – anyone who thinks they exist is dreaming.

Dutton heard some ‘tough truths that Labor won’t face’ in Aboriginal communitiesSky News host Andrew Bolt says Opposition leader Peter Dutton met with members of largely Aboriginal communities in Western Australia this week and heard some “tough truths that Labor won’t face”. “What some in those meetings were saying was that some Aborigines – again not all, not all, not all – some were getting royalties or compensation, sometimes big money, yet were still poor,” Mr Bolt said. He said Australia’s approach to Aboriginal disadvantage has “failed and will continue to fail” whether there’s a Voice or not. “It's all pitched on this idea that Aborigines are victims and whites are the villains, and what's needed are sorries, and compensations, and more welfare, and treaties, a Voice, now a truth-telling commission Labor wants and the whole awful rest of that and then you just look around,” Mr Bolt said. “I mean, you got many Aborigines are, in fact, doing well. “If you want western results from Aboriginal communities, you need a fair bit of western culture to get them.”
