US President Joe Biden accuses his Ukrainian counterpart of ignoring US intelligence, saying many people thought he was exaggerating but 'there was no doubt' Russia was going to invade.
US President Joe Biden says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "didn't want to hear" US intelligence warnings ahead of Russia's invasion of his country.Russian shelling has caused a fire at a Sievierodonetsk chemical plant sheltering hundreds of civilians
Mr Biden's remarks came during a Democratic fundraiser in Los Angeles, as he was talking about his work to rally and solidify support for Ukraine as the war continues into its fourth month. In the weeks before the war began on February 24, Mr Zelenskyy publicly bristled as Biden administration officials repeatedly warned that a Russian invasion was highly likely.
Ukrainian officials say the tide of events could be turned only if the West fulfils promises to send more and better weaponry.
