President Biden plans to distribute an additional 500 million at-home rapid Covid-19 tests to Americans for free, doubling the original amount, a White House official said

The president will also detail plans to deploy military medical teams to hospitals in six states, according to White House officials. The teams of military doctors, nurses and other personnel will arrive next week to help take the strain offThe teams will deploy to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Coney Island Hospital in New York, Rhode Island Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan, University of New Mexico Hospital, and University Hospital in New Jersey, according to the officials.

Additional military medical teams will be deployed to other states in the coming weeks as needed, the officials said. During a December speech, Mr. Biden said 1,000 military personnel would be sent to hospitals in the coming months, but he didn’t lay out which hospitals would receive the extra help.
