Construction work is to resume tomorrow although the number of workers to be affected by the ban for no work onsite in the eight LGAs under harsher lockdown conditions until 28 August.
Many workers who live outside the council areas affected by the Delta strain but work onsite in those LGAs will be impacted by the restrictions.
Sydney has some of the biggest infrastructure projects in Australia and the implication of the ban means construction is going to be at a much-reduced capacity over the next few weeks. A high number of builders are struggling through financial hardship, with NAB banking fielding hundreds of calls from construction workers who are concerned about their income.
