AFL: Former Kangaroos champion David King believes the Blues may need to make a call on Zac Williams after he performed poorly against the Cats in Round 7.

There’s concerns for Zac Williams ’ spot in the Carlton senior team as several of the defender’s efforts in the club’s loss to Geelong have been called out.

And Williams, who returned this year from an ACL injury that wiped out his 2023 season, has been called out for not picking up the slack. “If you’re going to do that as a senior experienced player – and they’re down on backman – you’re going to Geelong perfect opportunities to score,” King said. “Geelong is currently on top of the ladder, but we would like to think that we benchmark ourselves off our own standards and we fell below those standards when defending,” Voss said post-match.
