Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has demanded the United States recognise Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism following the “deliberate mass murder” of more than 50 prisoners of war.

The Russian defence ministry immediately claimed Ukraine targeted the prison with US-made HIMARS rockets which killed 53 people and wounded 75 more.

Offer ends 31 October, 2022 “It was a deliberate Russian war crime, a deliberate mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war,” the hardened leader said in a video statement on Saturday morning."I am especially appealing to the United States of America. A decision is needed, and it is needed now.

The prisoners surrendered in May after battling severe shortages of food, water, ammunition, medicine and electricity during an 82-day standoff with Russian forces. “I call on all partners to strongly condemn this brutal violation of international humanitarian law and recognize Russia a terrorist state,” Mr Kuleba said.

President Zelensky said the guarantors “must react” and demanded they “protect the lives of hundreds of Ukrainian prisoners of war”.
