STOLEN BIRDS: Police are appealing for information after two scarlet macaw birds - worth $60,000 - were taken from a Melbourne home. 9News

Police believe the thieves forced their way into the home on Poinciana Street in Frankston South through the front door sometime between 5pm on Sunday, November 28 and 12.30pm on Monday, November 29.The birds have been stolen from their Frankston South home.

The birds, named Bubba and Pippa, have had their flight feathers clipped so would not have been able to leave the house on their own.Police have released a photo of the birds in hope someone might be aware of where they are being kept. Anyone with information about the stolen birds is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at
