Bosses at health company Eucalyptus are among the beneficiaries of programs run by The Mintable, which will use the new funds to develop new products.
When he began managing people, Simon Baume, the head of operations at health start-up Eucalyptus, recognised there were two likely outcomes when he gave his team feedback.
Health start-up Eucalyptus’ head of engineering Davina Adisusila and Simon Baume, the head of operations, participated in The Mintable’s management training.Mr Baume manages a team of 70 people who are responsible for making sure customers receive the medications they order from one of Eucalyptus’ portfolio brands.
One of the lessons Mr Baume took from the training was to schedule time in his calendar to give feedback and avoid the “shit sandwich” approach – where criticism is sandwiched between two pieces of praise – because “the message can be lost between slices”.The Mintable, which was co-founded by Americans Lauren Humphrey and Melissa Miller, has raised $6.8 million in a seed round led by venture firm Blackbird to further develop products that teach people how to become better managers.
