The simple yet powerful black-and-white imagery depicts Hawke lying on a roof, strumming a guitar, and bundling up in a jean jacket. The clothing consists of all the classics—a pair of jeans, a white tank top, a pinstripe suit.

The location is especially significant as it is currently under construction, soon to be reestablished as Balenciaga’s headquarters. For now, the setting made for the perfect backdrop for the brand’s winter 2023 campaign, providing a contrast between the clothing and the surrounding construction, allowing for “an ironic point of comparison.
