The Spurs and Hall of Famer George Gervin announce the team's Classic Edition uniform to commemorate their 50-year legacy on Monday, July 11, 2022. The jersey harkens back to the days when the"Iceman" Gervin and the Spurs played in the Hemisfair arena. Players will don the Classic Edition uniforms for select games this upcoming season. Fans can also get their hands on the jerseys starting in September.
One of those uniforms was leaked late Wednesday night when Spurs guard Blake Wesley posted a picture of himself on Instagram in a teal jersey that was trimmed with pink and orange and featured white lettering. It is expected that this is the Spurs' city edition jersey for the upcoming season. It is an homage to the Spurs' fiesta-themed colors made popular in the 1990s and a nod to the 1996 NBA All-Star Game, which was hosted in San Antonio.
The city edition uniforms uniforms are one of many the Spurs will debut this year, including their statement edition uniform, which will be a black jersey and feature"SATX" on the front. The third uniform is their classic edition uniform -- an ABA-inspired jersey, which will be black with San Antonio lettered in white on the front.
