Blind Date's legendary 'Our Graham' dies aged 90 as family pay tribute to voiceover star
Graham – lovingly known as ‘Our Graham’ to Blind Date fans – voiced the popular dating show hosted by Cilla Black between the years of 1985 to 2002.Graham is survived by his three children and five grandchildren.
“He loved it. I do event organising and had a show in London and got Dad to do the voice over. People recognised him straight away,” he went on to tell The Sun.In light of the news of his death, people have taken to social media to pay tribute to the TV veteran. “RIP “Our Graham” Skidmore - the voice of Saturday night TV in my house growing up as the man with the recaps on Blind Date,” penned another.
While Graham went on to become a well-known voice on television, he almost didn’t go into TV, according to his daughter Catherine, who said Graham nearly became a doctor.“After National Service he went into engineering and for a hobby he started singing. He had an exceptional singing voice,” Catherine said, as per The Sun.“Daddy was self employed and had other lines of work.”
