Blizzard says it had 'expected the launch of Overwatch 2 to go smoothly,' and has apologised for the issues players have experienced.

The devs have now apologised for the issues experienced, and, aiming to"provide transparency on the issues," have outlined some of the changes and fixes made."Yesterday was an exciting day for the Overwatch team — a day that we know you have been looking forward to for a long time. While millions of people have been enjoying the game, the launch has not met your, or our, expectations," Blizzard'sreads."First, we want to apologise to our players.
. The devs also say one reason you might have been seeing your place in the queue change was because there were two queues;"one through Battle.net, then one through the game itself." This should now have been adjusted so that there is just one queue."Login reliability" should have been improved after Blizzard patched a server, while another server update is on the way that should help stop players being booted out of the games they manage to make it into.
"The player database is being overloaded, which cascades and causes a backup in the login system, which eventually leads to some people being dropped out of queues or being unable to log in at all. We’re continuing to add nodes to ease the pressure on the player database," Blizzard adds.
According to the devs, if you're seeing that your in-game progress and inventory has been reset, you might not yet have finished merging your account, or else it's just taking a while for things to appear in Overwatch 2, but Blizzard confirms that"no player data has been wiped or lost.
