Jacqui Lambie has blasted the Greens for playing with “the most vulnerable people’s lives” by threatening the future of Labor’s signature housing bill.
The Greens are continuing to pressure the government to introduce nation-wide rent caps and freezes to address the housing crisis.
Premiers and chief ministers have all agreed this week there needs to be more housing, with the funding set to be delivered to governments within two weeks. The $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund aims to build about 30,000 social and affordable homes over a five-year period.
