Disney has acquired the global theatrical rights for a film based on the hit animated series Bluey. The CGI-animated film will continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable blue heeler dog, and will be written and directed by creator Joe Brumm. The film will star series regulars Melanie Zanetti as Chilli and David McCormack as Bandit. It is set to premiere in cinemas in 2027.

The Walt Disney Co. and BBC Studios announced overnight that a film based on the Australian show will arrive in cinemas in 2027. It will be written and directed by creator Joe Brumm, with a voice cast led by series regulars Melanie Zanetti as Bluey and Bingo’s mum, Chilli, and David McCormack as dad, Bandit.
The CGI-animated film will “continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog,” the companies said in a statement.
