Bob Saget, the actor best known for his role as the father on 'Full House,' died of head trauma, his family says.
“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep," the Saget family in a statement on Wednesday, first revealing the comedian's cause of death."No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany on Thursday confirmed the family's statement and ruled Saget's death an accident. "In consideration of the circumstances surrounding the death ... it is my opinion that the death of Robert Saget, a 65-year-old white male found unresponsive in a hotel room, is the result of a blunt head trauma," according to Stephany.
"It is most probable that the decedent suffered an unwitnessed fall backwards and struck the posterior aspect of his head.". That finding was not linked to his death.of drug use or foul play. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office had said the same thing at the time.
