Despite the body being found in Essex, Scotland Yard has taken charge of the inquiry because it is believed the man died in Greater London.
Three men have been arrested after a man's body was found in woodland in Essex.
The woman has been found and is"physically unharmed", officers said. She and the man were known to each other. Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran, from the Met's Specialist Crime Directorate, said:"This is a very complex and fast-moving investigation involving multiple units across the , as well as invaluable support from our colleagues in Essex Police.
