Dr Sophie Johnstone vanished from the Partick area of the city at around 8.30am on Monday, November 21. The 35-year-old was last seen at her home address in Glasgow 's west end.
Officers have now confirmed that a body was found in an area near Baldernock Crescent in Milngavie at around 10.15am this morning. Formal identification has still to take place. Sophie's family have been informed of the discovery.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.15am on Tuesday, November 22, the body of a woman was found in an area near Baldernock Crescent, Milngavie.
"Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of 35-year-old Sophie Johnston has been informed. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
