Police have called a man an "idiot" after he became stuck inside a chimney while attempting to hide from officers in Boston.

Officers had been executing a search warrant at a house on Tuesday night when 33-year-old Robert Langlais and another suspect allegedly fled the scene by jumping on the roof. Body camera video released by Fall River Police shows the moment officers made the discovery after a dog walker saw Langlais jump into the chimney."You're an idiot," an officer can be heard saying as they shined a torch on the trapped man.Detectives attempted to free him but firefighters were needed to assist in the rescue.

"One male eluded capture by bounding from the roof and onto a parked vehicle. The other male, later identified as Robert Langlais, aged 33, invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside of a chimney," Fall River Police said. "Langlais quickly became stuck in the chimney and required the assistance of the very detectives he was previously fleeing from."Officers had been executing a search warrant at a house when two people attempted to flee.
