Lampard now has three losses in three games as they have also lost to Wolves and Real Madrid in recent days. Chelsea are now 11th in the Premier League and closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League places. Behdad Eghbali and Hansjorg Wyss also ‘entered the home dressing room’. After Lampard offered his thoughts on the defeat, ‘Boehly addressed the squad and is understood to have described the current situation, in terms of results and Chelsea being in the bottom half of the Premier League table, as embarrassing’. The report adds.
‘He also tried to strike a positive note, reiterating the fact that Tuesday night’s game against Real represents a chance to keep the season alive, end the embarrassment and give Chelsea’s fans something to be proud about.
