The Australians are yet to finalise an XI but have confirmed Usman Khawaja will retain his place in the side at the expense of Marcus Harris.
Boland will put his injured ribs to the test in the nets on Thursday afternoon after not bowling at training on Wednesday night, but skipper Pat Cummins is confident he will be available.
“We’re going to give Scotty Boland a crack at a bowl in the next hour or so, so we’ll have a team out in the next couple of hours,” Australia captain Pat Cummins said.“We think he should be right but just have another bowl in the nets.” “I think he’ll just have a bowl and judge it. It feels a little bit better than it did a few days ago. He bowled 30, 40 overs after he did the injury, which gives us a lot of confidence he can get through it.
