Parts of Australia are being slammed by cold, wet weather that is spreading from the west to the east coast. After a blast of warm spring weather, the wet and wintry conditions have sent temperatures plummeting — and many people in search of their brollies and raincoats. The Bureau of Meteorology said the low pressure system causing the conditions had kicked off with widespread rainfall in Western Australia before tracking southeast.
The weather will warm up slightly to a high of 18C on Friday but conditions are still expected to be cloudy with a medium chance of showers, most likely in the early morning. Southerly winds of up to 20km/h to 30km/h will tend southeasterly 15km/h to 25km/h in the morning, then become light in the evening, according to BOM. Brisbane A high of 29C is forecast on Thursday with cloud increasing throughout the day.
