“CBP is surging personnel and resources to the border, increasing processing capacity, securing more ground and air transportation, and increasing medical supplies, food, water, and other resources to ensure a humane environment for those being processed,” CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus said in a statement.
The White House in March used the order to expel migrants in 109,549 encounters, roughly half of the people encountered by Customs and Border Protection as they attempted to cross the border that month.
