Allan Border hopes to hand the trophy that bears his name to Australia’s captain Pat Cummins after a 10-year drought on January 7 at the SCG . Border wants to get one back on his old Indian friend Sunil Gavaskar , who has been giving him cheek for years. Border says it would be good to give Pat the trophy on January 7 because Australia has been the better team to date.
Border grew up in Sydney and has many fond memories of the SCG, including watching heroes like Doug Walters and the Chappell brothers. One of his standout memories is the birth of his daughter, Nicole, while he was batting in a Test match against India in 1986
