An instinctual actor who follows her gut, the Borgen star and Westworld villain says that sound can often lead the way.
Borgen star Sidse Babbett Knudsen became a household name playing the idealistic Danish Prime Minister, Birgitte Nyborg Christensen, who came to power unexpectedly.
"I basically ended up saying yes just because this is the scariest thing I've ever had to say yes to.""When we first did Borgen, it was a little bit more naive and gentle than reality," Knudsen says."They wanted her to be breaking bad, and I fought a lot with that, but I was convinced this was the state of the world right now. It's grown so much more cynical in such a short time, which is scary.
The Guilty also caught the attention of Hollywood heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal, who starred in the remake directed by Antoine Fuqua . But it was the original that spoke loudest to Knudsen.Möller did not hesitate, and soon Knudsen was going to prison. "She doesn't have friends or a life outside her work. I built the whole character on guilt, with Eva feeling like she was a bad mum, and this is sort of her redemption.""It takes her ages to answer, and I imagined that a little bit like an old-fashioned flip machine, where the ball goes around and up and down inside her brain.""You just feel so much energy from the people who had been there when you see their graffiti on the wall," Knudsen says.
