The Adam Smith Institute’s Matthew Lesh says Boris Johnson has a “uncanny ability” to brush things off amid a series of allegations that the UK Prime Minister and his staff failed to follow COVID restrictions.
It comes after an image was released from May 2020 which allegedly shows the Prime Minister and his staff in the Downing Street gardens failing to abide by social distancing rules.
“This is the latest in really a series of allegations in which Boris or Number 10 staff have failed to basically follow the rules that they were enacting,” Mr Lesh told Sky News host Caleb Bond. “At the time, you’ve got to remember, in May 2020 it was unlawful for more than two people to meet up outdoors.“Boris is claiming … that in fact there was a work meeting outdoors, this was just the conclusion of the work meeting.
“I don’t know if that’s necessarily that believable but Boris does seem to have this uncanny ability to brush things off and people move on.”
