Sky News Washington correspondent Annelise Nielsen says it seems UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is “charting a course” out of the Partygate scandal.

“This is the extraordinary thing that we’re even now talking about it because he seemed so on the ropes even just a week ago, but it seems like he is charting a course out of this,” Ms Nielsen told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

She said the general public is not the biggest challenge for Mr Johnson anymore as their outrage has been “well and truly felt” – rather, the challenge is “keeping his own party members in line”. “It seems like he did manage to placate some of the concerns in a party meeting last night after that absolute bollocking in the House of Commons,” she said.
