Reminder: Boston's vaccine requirement to patronize restaurants, gyms, entertainment venues and other similar indoor places goes into effect tomorrow.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu held a press conference in City Hall on Dec. 20, 2021, to discuss the city's response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She announced a vaccine mandate to enter businesses in Boston.
“It's a little bit split in the industry,” said Steve Clark, vice president of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. “We're in a perfect storm in the industry where we're having an increased government mandate, increase in virus positivity rate and also a lack of government funding that's out there to help restaurants that are dealing with this,” he said. “So, it's really a tenuous time at the moment.”
