All drivers wear 'End Racism' T-shirts, but six do not take a knee, as Bottas wins an Austrian Grand Prix in which only 11 of 20 cars finished.

That's a tall order with six-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton as his teammate at Mercedes. Especially as Hamilton needs one more title to equal Michael Schumacher's record of seven.

Australia's Daniel Ricciardo ahead of the race had told fans to expect "some form of chaos", and unfortunately for him, he was one of nine drivers out of the 20 who was forced to abandon — in his case due to his Renault engine overheating. Also failing to finish were both Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon — who tried to overtake Hamilton on the outside with 10 laps left, touched wheels and flew off track.

"This sport can be pretty brutal sometimes and it feels like today's been one of those days. Alex drove a great race, he didn't deserve that."All drivers wore 'End Racism' T-shirts before the race, but six drivers did not take a knee: Verstappen, Leclerc, Kimi Raikkonen, Daniil Kvyat, Antonio Giovinazzi and Carlos Sainz Jr.

"The chat with the drivers was essentially this: all of us are 100 per cent on board with supporting it and ending racism. None of us are 'anti' this. So we all support that.
