It has been reported that a 10-year-old boy, who has been described by relatives as ‘mentally ill’, has been accused of killing his mother for refusing to buy him a pricey VR headset.
A 10-year-old boy has been described as being mentally ill by relatives after he allegedly shot his mother dead.
The child, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is facing up to 60 years in prison for killing Quiana Mann, 44, when she refused to buy him a VR headset. He told police that he got the gun that killed his mother because he was angry at her for waking him up at 6am after she refused to buy the device. Initial reports suggested the gun went off while he was playing it, but now it is believed it was a deliberate act and he is being tried as an adult.that she never imagined her nephew would have been capable of hurting his mother.Ms Reid said her nephew started going to therapy more than a year ago after he was diagnosed with mood and conduct disorder.
‘When he calls, he’s just like, “make sure all my tablets and laptop and everything of mine is packaged”,’ Ms Reid added.
