Two 14-year-olds have faced court charged in relation to serious injuries to boy who was on holidays from Japan when he was hit by a rock while travelling on a Cairns tourist train.

Two teens arrested after a five-year-old train passenger was injured by a rock have faced Cairns Childrens Court.Two teenage boys are in custody over a rock-throwing incident at a moving tourist train which left a five-year-old boy with a fractured skull in Far North Queensland .

One teen was on Tuesday remanded in custody with his matter adjourned for court mention on Wednesday. It heard the injured boy was in a stable condition in the intensive care unit in Townsville University Hospital, and that his family was unable to return home until his condition improved.
