There was a lot of concern in the area
Residents of a Nottinghamshire town have shared their concerns after a child was airlifted to hospital. A 10-year-old boy was hit by a car at around 8.45am in Bingham on Wednesday, December 21.
A 44-year-old father who did not wish to be named said: "When we went past the road was closed and we saw a car in the middle of the road and a police officer and then another police car was across the road. There was a couple of vans across from it at the computer shop." Retired, Kevin Martin, 78, of Bingham, said: "That has been an accident waiting to happen there. I have been here about 12 years and every time they come down Long Acre to get down Long Acre East they should signal left but they never do.
"It's no surprise, and I'm really sorry that a little boy has been hurt. I do wish the family all the best and I'm so sorry this has happened." Retired, Neil Fraser, 62, learnt about the accident from his daughter who was taking her mum into the town centre and saw the cordon. He said: "It's not brilliant, and there's obviously a danger there at the junction.
