Carl Lowery was working on the construction of new apartment blocks when he was left with horrendous burns
A company has been fined £60,000 after Bradley Lowery's dad, Carl, suffered severe burns in a building site incident.
Carl shared that he continued to work throughout his son's devastating illness. However, the severe injuries he sustained meant that he hasn't been able to return to work in the three years since his own accident. A gap in a guard panel that should have protected them from the electricity led to a nut rolling and coming into contact with the electrics. This caused the flash that burned Carl.
Aberla - which is based in Parklands, Bolton - admitted this week at Manchester Magistrates' Court that they were guilty of not following the Health and Safety at Work Act rules. The company was ordered to pay a fine of £40,000 and cover costs worth £20,000.
