Australia is the only country in the Commonwealth without a top diplomatic representative at the event.Senator Payne declined to comment on Friday on the decision to recall Mr Brandis so close to the Jubilee. Foreign Minister Penny Wong, who was in Tonga on Friday, was not able to respond to questions regarding the high commissioner’s role or inquiries about the process to appoint a replacement in time for deadline.that Governor-General David Hurley and his wife Linda Hurley had travelled to the UK as Australia’s official representatives at the event.
