East Kilbride 's new Kraken chip shop was the plaice to be this week as local youngster Cole Thomson carried out ribbon cutting duties.

"I thought it would be nice for Cole to come down and cut the ribbon. He was buzzing for it and even scooped some of the chips. Cole told us: "I had a fun time and even got a free cap. I can’t believe I got to open a chippy, it’s so cool. Plus we got our dinner and it was 10 out of 10." Lisa has now been fighting for six years for government support for Cole's medicine to be NHS-prescribed, but is no further forward.
