BREAKING: Transport disruption in city centre after tram crash near Arndale - live updates
There is widespread disruption on the trams and roads this evening after a crash between a tram and a taxi. It has happened on Shudehill, close to the Arndale Centre and the Northern Quarter.
An eyewitness said a tram and a taxi collided near the junction with High Street. A picture from the scene showed a fire engine in attendance and the line blocked. At this stage, it is unclear if anyone has been injured. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for comment. Metrolink said that as a result of a 'road traffic collision' a number of changes to services had been made and passengers are also reporting delays.
Some bus services are now unable to access the Shudehill Interchange and have been re-routed and there are also delays being reported on Rochdale Road bus corridor.READ NEXT:
