Three men have been arrested in Sydney in relation to the roadside shooting death of Omega Ruston on the Gold Coast more than a decade ago. 7NEWS
Two shots were allegedly fired from the rear passenger seat, one of them fatally wounding the 32-year-old construction worker.When the reward was announced in March 2021, Police Minister Mark Ryan said legal indemnity was on offer for anyone involved in the crime who didn’t pull the trigger.
Detective Inspector Chris Ahearn said it was believed the people allegedly involved in the shooting were linked to the Gold Coast and Sydney chapters of organised crime syndicates and outlaw motorcycle gangs.“We are aware relationships and loyalties in these gangs change,” he said at the time.Police are expected to speak further on the matter in Sydney later on Tuesday.
